Elderwood's Sassafrass by Butterscotch

Clio was our first alpaca purchase and is really the reason that we are in the business today. She is a nice, bay-black girl with a very dense fleece. She has turned out to be a very easy keeper and a great mom. Her sire, Melinero, is a ribbon winning male with many big names in his heritage including PPeruvian Pluro, PPPeruvian Inca, Royal Peruvian Sherman, and 4Peruvian Chaval. Melinero sports a dense, medium brown fleece with great coverage. He has a nice square frame and a beautiful head. Kwanita, her dam, is a daughter of Aussie Rockford - a phenomenal grey male that has produced many award winning cria. He's out of the well known PPeruvian Felix and Hannaruh. Other lineage includes includes PPPeruvian Cavalier and 4Peruvian Silver Bullet. Her dam has had two other offspring: one harlequin and one appaloosa. We are excited to see what her future holds. Clio is a proven producer of well-built, colored crias. Her 2017 cria, Prince of Thieves, became quite famous on Instagram as the "smiling alpaca." In the Spring of 2019, Clio gave us a beautiful white female with a few spots. Since we know the genetics are there we bred her to Spirit for a Spring 2020 cria. We are really looking forward to seeing what this combination will produce.
