Double 8 Black Velvet

It's official - we have our first suri after a decade of huacayas! We couldn't be happier with our first edition. Black Velvet is a true black girl with exceptional locking structure and a beautiful luster to her blue-black fleece. She's conformationally correct with a nice stature for a female. Due to these combined qualities, she's snagged two banners and several blue ribbons. We can't wait to see what her future holds.

She's sired by 6x banner winner, WLK Milano (pictured), an absolutely stunning example of the suri breed. This bay black male has produced several banner-winning offspring, passing on his elite traits. It's no wonder he turned out this way from the power packed combination of his Get of Sire winning dad, Meadowgate Peruvian Saber (pictured) and his National Champion dam, Stone Brook's Midnight Lockdown (pictured).

Black Velvet's mom's side of the family is just as impressive. Her dam, GLR Black Diamond (pictured), is the 2012 Black Futurity Champion. She's sired by the 2006 Black Futurity Champion, Shavano - quality spanning several generations.
